About

Hi I’m Teesha Morgan from the Craftwerx Studio Colouring for Mental Health Project,
Please join us and Share the fun of developing and self-publishing our Set of Colouring Books with a clear Mental Health focus.
Help to choose which of my drawings will be included, test colouring pages, help the select inspirational quotes, instructions for beginners, choose which charity to support once we have sales & help to organise crowd funding.
Most important of all is to use the project to raise community awareness about the truth of mental illness.
Help to encourage those suffering in silence to reach out as there is help available and people who understand what you are going through.
I know Colouring-in Therapy works and will be using my experience battling depression, anxiety & panic attacks, chronic pain, chronic fatigue and mood disorders as well as those of other sufferers and workers in the sector to give some clear exercises that anyone can do to wrestle their purple monkey dishwasher thoughts and feel a bit better. Believe me I am not saying that Colouring-In therapy will fix Mental Illness, – BUT every little bit helps on a bad day, right?
I hope that we can enjoy this journey together and help someone else to feel better about themselves.
Join us on our journey & we will have some fun!:.

Cheers, Teesha

So that is the short version- but if you feel like you want to get to know me a little better, here is the long version(better get a cuppa)

I am Teesha Morgan…so who am I? I am still working that out.
But here are a few things that I know about myself: I am an artist and have been on and off for my whole life, as a kid there was nothing better than a new pack of pencils or pens and a fresh white page to fill.

I have had mental Illness – Anxiety and Major Depression for pretty much my whole life too.

I am also a sufferer and survivor of Chronic Pain from Endometriosis (not the normal kind of course because who wants to be normal) and the nerve damage that resulted from the surgeries that tried to cure it before I said “NO More Surgery”! A lot of people ask me why it is different from most Endo, so here goes- It causes these tumors to pop up around the place in my body and act kinda like cancer as each cell converts the ones around it and then makes a nerve cluster to make more pain, it’s AWSOME- not!

So the Endo and the Pain have caused me to have Chronic Fatigue which is kind of like constantly wading through knee high water while carrying 5 bags of shopping and everyone else is running on wet sand.

I do have a wonderfully amazing man in my life who loves me and makes up for all of the above. Most of the time. He has his own health problems to face so we understand each other and give each other the space that we need to cope and the cheer squad when that is needed too.

I love my garden, propagating and growing plants from seed, especially things that are edible. One day, when we aren’t on Disability and can buy our own house, I dream of a huge raised bed veggie garden.

I love glitter !! sorry I know but I had to let you know in advance.

I have 6 hand raised pet ducks who are my babies and I spend many hours each day with them as they keep me smiling.

I made myself purple synthetic dreadlocks that I like to wear, I love rainbow hair, well really I love colour everywhere. I used to be skinny but now I am not and I am not happy about it.

All of this of course adds to my art which is why we are here.

As someone who suffers from Anxiety, Depression, Chronic Fatigue and Chronic Pain – I love to colour in and have been doing it as long as I can remember but since the health stuff started I have been making sure to use it as a therapy tool. Having recently read and article about self-publishing on the creative Penn and after having had a lot of people tell me that I should make my art and zendoodles a colouring book, I decided to give it a try.

I know there are already a lot of Adult colouring in books out there- hey I own a lot of them. There are a few artist drawn ones and there should be more of them!

Also being that I have a lot of friends who suffer from Mental Health issues I really wanted to do something that can help people who are not so arty get the most benefit out of their colouring in.

So of course everyone said- “you have to blog it”….now i have tried to write blogs before and failed miserably but this time. Once upon a time I managed lots of projects so I am going to treat it as a project and hopefully give anyone who actually reads my blog a chance to give feedback. I welcome any ideas or tips on how to make colouring in an enjoyable activity that also helps out in those times when the Black Dog or the Crazy Brain come to visit. As well as hopefully helping even a little to reduce the stigma of Mental Illness. I may also do some reviews of art supplies as I have tried and tested quite a lot.

So I hope that sounds interesting and that you will follow me on this project, tell your friends and join my FB group. I want to make this awe can make a really great series of books and raise awareness about Mental Illness.

Details are below and please share the message below with your friends so that we can get the message out there.

Thank you for reading this,

Cheers, Teesha Morgan
